Nicole Scherzinger has been dumped by boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.

The British Formula One star was apparently not ready to settle down with the Pussycat Doll.

Lewis, 24, told Nicole, 31, about 10 days ago that their relationship of nearly two years was over and the chance of a reconciliation was not even open for discussion.

“Lewis was adamant the relationship had come to an end,” a source told Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper.

“He was feeling under pressure to take their union to the next level and he wasn’t wanting to become engaged, get married or think about having children.

“He’s young, they spend an awful lot of time apart and he’s just not ready to leave his youth behind for a lifetime with Nicole.

“He found the tribulations of having a long-distance relationship very challenging indeed.

“Nicole’s mortified — she imagined being with Lewis for a long time and she’s shocked that things have ended so suddenly.”

Nicole was due to be hosting the F1 Rocks pop concert in Singapore in a fortnight. But she has pulled out of compering the event that will see Beyoncé Knowles and the Black Eyed Peas perform over the three days surrounding the Singapore Grand Prix.

“The last thing Nicole wanted to be doing is anything to do with Formula 1 now — so she immediately pulled out of F1 Rocks.

“Nicole and Lewis would have been the star draw but she doesn’t want to be within 20 feet of him right now. She’s very upset about being ditched and needs time out. She’s cleared her schedule and will be in LA for the next two weeks.

“Lewis wants to play the singles market for a while and enjoy himself.

“He’s still very young, he’s incredibly rich and he’s not wanting to be tied down into a relationship right now. It’s as simple as that.”

In May this year, Scherzinger said she was hoping she and Hamilton would be engaged by July.

“Would I get married? For sure and, yeah, the Dolls can be the bridesmaids,” she said. “But I have to get engaged first. Late July is looking good.

“Marriage is a seal of love. On my solo album I have sung about how much I love that and what the whole process would mean to me. Who needs a reason to seal their love?”
