George Clooney would rather have a rectal examination on live TV than join a social networking site.

The Hollywood actor isn’t a fan of sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter and says an intrusive medical would be a more preferable option than creating his own page.

“I’d rather have a rectal examination on live TV by a fellow with cold hands than have a Facebook page!” he said.

Meanwhile, Clooney apparently treated his new girlfriend, Elisabetta Canalis,”like a princess” while they were in Italy for the Venice Film Festival.

The Ocean’s 12 star arrived in Venice to promote new movie Men Who Stare at Goats, with Italian TV presenter Canalis on his arm.

“George certainly knows how to treat a woman and Elisabetta has been treated like a princess,” a source said. “He is clearly smitten with this woman and has made sure she is included in everything he’s doing here and he’s made time for the odd romantic dinner or two.

“George is a romantic at heart and he’s clearly in his element in Venice.”
