Madonna insists she’s “flattered” that people are comparing her to Lady GaGa.

The reigning Queen of Pop told MTV at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday that she doesn’t feel threatened by the Poker Face singer.

“I just saw Lady Gaga,” Madonna said with a smile. “She looks like she’s going to carnival in Venice, very beautiful.”

Asked if she feels at all threatened by the comparisons, Madonna said, “No, I’m very flattered.”

When asked if her teenage daughter Lourdes is interested in following in her superstar mother’s footsteps, Madge said, “She’s got school tomorrow, so she’s in the bed sleeping.

“I think she has an interest, but she has time — she’s not even 13 yet, so give her a few more years.”

During her performance at the VMAs, the Holiday singer wowed the audience by paying a touching tribute to the tragic King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
