Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are desperate to keep themselves out of the press — because they want their relationship to be as “normal” as possible.

The stars — who are currently in Vancouver, Canada, filming the third Twilight film, Eclipse — try their best to spend time together away from the media glare.

“They love spending time together and want to stay out of the press as much as possible,” a source said. “They’re trying to have a normal relationship.”

Meanwhile, sources say Rob, 23, and Kristen, 19, keep their public displays of affection to a minimum — because they want people to believe they’re just good friends — not lovers.

“Yes indeed, they are a couple,” a Twilight insider told E! News. “Rob and Kristen do not even show public displays of affection in front of their friends because they do not want to be talked about.

“The only time you see them being affectionate towards one another is when they are doing a scene together.

“Aside from that, one could still assume they are just friends, and that is what they want outsiders to continue believing.”
