Whitney Houston‘s daughter says she’s “proud” of her superstar mom — and says they’re more like sisters than mother and daughter.

Bobbi Kristina, 16, made her comments during Whitney’s recent interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Asked how proud she was of her mother after Houston had overcome a turbulent marriage and drug problems, the teen said, “Words can’t explain how proud I am of her… I’ve been there with her through everything… I stay by her side. That’s like my best friend, like my sister.”

Whitney added, “It wasn’t easy but she never let go of my hand. And I never let go of hers.”

Houston also revealed how a 13-year-old Bobbi urged her mom to divorce her father Bobby Brown — after watching him date a string of women when the former couple split in 2006.

“She was just a kid — 13, learning to be a young woman — and I’d give her bits and pieces, but that Internet and that computer, man… She was like, ‘Mom, did you see dad?’ And she saw him with [other women], just crazy things, and she said, ‘Oh no, no, divorce him, just let him go’,” Whitney explained.

“She said, ‘You stay here with me, you love me, you take me to school, you do things with me; you don’t just play me, you don’t lie to me, you’re there for me. When he comes and tells me he’s coming, he never comes.’

“She was far more intelligent than I had ever imagined.”
