Police have launched an investigation into Katie Price’s rape claims.
Officers are looking into the allegation that Price — also known as Jordan — was sexually assaulted by a “famous celebrity”.
“No report of a rape has been made to Surrey Police,” a police spokesperson said. “Officers from Surrey Police have not yet spoken to her. However, officers will be following lines of enquiry into this offense.”
Katie — whose divorce from singer Peter Andre will be finalized in five weeks — made the rape revelation in her magazine column.
The star insists she won’t reveal the identity of the rapist.
The 31-year-old glamor model on Wednesday called British chat show The Wright Stuff after watching the panel discuss her decision to reveal she was sexually assaulted by a well-known star.
She expressed her outrage at claims she had fabricated the story as a publicity stunt, insisting she only made the crime public to defend her cage fighter boyfriend Alex Reid, who was accused of simulating rape in a new violent film.
“I haven’t just come out and said I got raped, I was actually sticking up for Alex,” Price said. “It came out in the newspapers that he was doing this rape thing and I stuck up for him in my OK! magazine column.
“I would never do something like that for sympathy. It has all got out of context and I think it is really out of order to say I would do it for sympathy. I would never do that and I will never name the person that did it. That’s not for me to do. I am the victim here.”
Katie also blasted the media for blowing her confession “out of proportion”.
“I am absolutely livid,” she said. “I have mentioned it in my column, then I did a shoot with the kids and the press have gone on and on about it. I am absolutely livid – they dig and dig and dig.
“I don’t make a joke about it – it is a serious matter. I woke up this morning and it’s over the front of the newspapers.
“It happened absolutely years ago and like anyone, it’s just a hard thing to do. It’s been done now, what do you do? I would say if something happens you should go to the police.”
