Ellen DeGeneres ‘Plans to Take Over American Idol’
Ellen DeGeneres is planning to become the new top dog on American Idol — and Simon Cowell is not amused!
The chat show host — who is replacing Paula Abdul on the smash hit TV talent contest — apparently sees herself as “the new sheriff in town”.
“What worked for Paula isn’t going to work for Ellen,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.
“She doesn’t want the seat in the middle — Ellen wants to be the last judge to offer an opinion so her words will be the final thing Idol fans hear on contestants.
“Ellen wants the show to be more contestant-friendly, and unlike Paula, she’s not afraid to get in Simon’s face.
“She’s going to fight Simon to make sure the contestants are given positive reinforcement.
“Ellen feels that he is her equal rather than her boss, and she says she won’t be bullied or swayed by him.”
“I’m not going to be mean, I hate when Simon is that mean,” Ellen recently said. “You can be constructive and criticize somebody that’s helpful instead of mean spirited.”

Paula was never afraid of simon, that’s exactly what made AI so fun, the fights and make ups of simon and Paula. I’m going to miss that. thank god there is still Dancing with the stars
and divas VH1 tonight with paula
Whoever said Paula was afraid of Simon? Paula got in his face whenever she wanted to, and that was the fun part. Problem is, Simon will never let anyone else get away with that. No one will ever play in Simey’s sandbox like Paula did, and hopefully Ellen figures that out. Trust me, she will not fascinate him like Paula does.
Ellen is an ass-hole and will not add a thing to IDOl!!The show has slowly been going to hell each season and DeGeneres is just the icing to totally ruin the show.Talent means nothing on Idol,it is now a total popularity contest. Most of the home audience who call and vote each week are dip-shit little girls who have no clue about talent.
Ellen will be fine…but I look forward to Howard Stern sitting at the judges table.
