Gerard Butler Doesn’t Miss Boozing

Gerard ButlerGerard Butler insists he doesn’t miss drinking alcohol.

The Scottish actor — who has sworn off booze for a number of years — says he can’t remember what drinking is like and it’s like his boozing days never happened.

“I can’t remember drinking,” he said. “When I stopped, I would look at a beer and think how great it would be.

“I’d get this pang in my stomach to go back out and have fun, but then I’d remember that I used up that right — that I did a full life worth of drinking between 14 and 27.”

Butler, 39, thinks he has done enough drinking for half a dozen people.

“I have no connection with it,” he said. “I’m not afraid of it and I don’t celebrate it.”

    Gerry is one tough dude. He has not only given up drinking but also Smoking and I know how difficult that can be as I went from 35 a day to zero. My reward was a baby girl. Gerry’s is his fantastic clear eyes and beautiful smile. Not forgetting that he has forged himself a wonderful career. We all greatly admire this man and many women hold him up as an all round Male Role model to their children. Thank you Gerry for having the courage to be a clean living guy in this age of dope and degregation. May you always enjoy the Good Life and career continue to Rocket.

    “Male role model to their children?!” Wow, what an insane notion. Every other word out of his mouth is 4-letters & he chats up anything remotely female. Okay he quit drinking & smoking. But personally I shudder to think about the number of women he’s been with since he was 14. There isn’t a belt long enough or a bed post high enough for the notches. If I had a child I would not encourage them to look up to Gerard Butler. Be a role model for your own child.

    I forget to mention My children have both Graduated from Oxford UK and my daughter is a Lawyer and my son has a degree in History and Politics. Gerry has been a driving force in them seeking their dream. Swearing these days is more published but has been going on since ancient times, and any normal woman would be attracted to this man he is a sweetie, I have met him. He is a great guy and loves his fans. Long may you prosper Mr Butler, I wish you every success at least you had the guts to reach for your dream. More should try it.
