Hugh Laurie Has Lost Weight!

The actor, 50, recently revealed that he doesn’t find himself all that funny.

“See, I don’t think of myself as funny,” he said in an April interview with Parade magazine. “I think of myself as rather grave, actually. And I’m suspicious of fun. I never quite know what that is or how to deal with it or how to generate it. That’s my fault. I know it’s a burden on the people I’m with. It’s tiresome.”

Laurie also admitted his big fear is being embarrassed.

“I’m reasonably easygoing,” he said.

“Messing up my lines or making a fool of myself is where you find my fears.

“Like a lot of English people, I’m prey to embarrassment – the dread that everyone’s sort of sniggering at you, that you’re going to look like an idiot.

“I think that sort of halts us all.”

    Hugh Laurie has always been thin; and on nearly all episodes he is non-shaven.
    Many actors have stage fright. I did/do. when acting. Also, many actors are shy.

    It's so ironic. All we Americans LOVE Hugh's beautiful English accent. And then, on top of that, he's managed to create an incredibly sexy American accent! That's an accomplishment I don't think any other Englishman has ever done. (No matter what Britains say, his American accent is impeccable. Guess it never occurs to them to think that maybe, just maybe, there are a few syllables that sound the same in English & American, so an inflection may sound British to limeys, but American to us yankees!)
