Here’s a copy of Patrick Swayze‘s death certificate.Patrick SwayzeAs the document states, the actor — who died Monday after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer — was cremated on Thursday. The certificate also states that Swayze’s immediate cause of death was cardiorespiratory arrest caused by advanced pancreatic cancer.

The Dirty Dancing star’s ashes are currently being held at his lawyer’s office, his death certificate states.

Is understood the remains will stay at the office until Patrick’s wife Lisa Niemi arranges for them to be moved.

Meanwhile, the residents of the North Carolina town in which Dirty Dancing was filmed are planning a memorial service for Swayze.

The town of Lake Lure will remember the actor’s life with a memorial service this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Firefly Cove — the housing development that served as Camp Chimney in Dirty Dancing.

The service is free, but visitors will be asked to donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

    I totally agree Estelle, please ppl, take this death certificate off now, I mean come on, Patrick Swayze’s friends and family should be respected in their great time of mourning and this is extremely disrespectful, it should be Removed at once.

    I may be wrong, but I believe it is illegal to obtain a death certificate without the families permission, much less post a death certificate when there are still living heirs. There are laws of protection for those living…how rude and shameful that in someones time of grieving people have to worry about people like you….in closing, this I am sure of @ 99.999% was a stolen document taken without conscent, great journalism ethics-NOT

    It is not that patrick kept what was going on a secret so the death certificate really is meaningless anyway. Does not tell you anything new. God Bless his wife and family.

    The posting of Patrick’s death certificate just proves that there is no respect for peoples privacey. They don’t care how this hurt’s his greiving family and close friends. Shows true ugleness of the posters of this certificate.

    It is not illegal to obtain a death certificate. They are a matter of public record, and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIC) allows anyone to request a copy. I obtained my best friend’s certificate after she died, and I did not have consult anyone except the vital records office.
    Posting Patrick’s on the internet… Bad taste, yes. Illegal, no.
