Johnny Depp hates dancing — but he was persuaded to show off his fancy footwork in new movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
Imaginarium director Terry Gilliam has revealed how the Pirates of The Caribbean star displayed his funky stuff under duress.
“I think Johnny has to do the dancing [in the film] and he hates dancing,” Gilliam said on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival.
“He said, ‘men don’t dance’, and yet we get him tangoing.”
Asked if he was the only man who could get Johnny on to the dance floor, Terry smiled and winked before waltzing down the carpet and into the auditorium.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus — which also stars Heath Ledger, Colin Farrell
and Jude Law — hits US movie theaters on December 25.
