Jessica Simspon‘s friends are worried the star is headed for a complete emotional breakdown.
According to insiders, Simpson — who recently lost her beloved Maltipoo Daisy to a coyote attack — may be at the lowest point of her life.
“Daisy was her baby,” a source told People magazine. “It’s going to put her into a tailspin. It will put her into the worst place ever.”
Jessica was given the dog by then-husband Nick Lachey in 2004, and the two bitches became inseparable.
“She’s really upset, but she’s not spiraling out of control by any means,” the source says. “She’ll get through this but it is like losing a family member. She’s focusing on work and spending time with her family and friends.
“She won’t leave her parents’ house.
“Whenever things went wrong for Jessica, she reached for Daisy.
“Daisy was her security blanket. When people let her down, she always had Daisy.”
