Sarah Michelle Prinze and husband Freddie Prinze Jr. are parents for the first time — the couple has just welcomed a daughter!

The Buffy The Vampire Slayer star — who announced her pregnancy back in April — gave birth to Charlotte Grace Prinze on Saturday, Sept. 19, says a rep for the actress.

“The family is over the moon,” the spokesman said.

Sarah Michelle — who wed Freddie in 2002 — recently changed her name from Gellar to Prinze.

“When we do have children, my husband and I will have such a strong foundation because we’ve given our relationship time to grow,” the actress has said of her marriage. “I try to go into everything with an open mind, but it’s much more than I thought it would be.

“The partnership grows to such a different level. And all my life, it was just my mom and me, us against the world; so to let someone else in and to have another partner was hard for me. Now he’s my partner, my best friend, and my husband.”

When the couple announced their pregnancy, Sarah Michelle’s former Buffy the Vampire Slayer costar Michelle Trachtenberg said, “I’m so happy for her; it’s extraordinary.

“She’s elated and feeling wonderful. She’s going to make a great mommy. They’re going to be extraordinary parents.”

Freddie Prinze Jr. will star on the upcoming season of 24. Sarah Michelle recently filmed the HBO pilot The Wonderful Maladays.
