U2 frontman Bono attended day 3 of the Clinton Global Initiative at the Sheraton Hotel in New York City Thursday.
Other celebrities in attendances included Brad Pitt, Jessica Alba and Barbra Streisland.
Bono — arguably one of the world’s best-known philanthropic performers — has been dubbed “the face of fusion philanthropy” both for his success enlisting powerful allies from a diverse spectrum of leaders in government, religious institutions, philanthropic organizations, popular media, and the business world, as well as for spearheading new organizational networks that bind global humanitarian relief with geopolitical activism and corporate commercial enterprise.
The rocker and his U2 bandmates — The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen, Jr. — are nominated in the Best Live Act and the Best Rock categories in this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) 2009.
