Adam Lambert’s Album Number 2 on Amazon Sales List

Adam LambertAdam Lambert is already dominating the charts.

The American Idol runner-up’s debut album landed the No. 2 spot on the Amazon.com sales list Monday, behind only Barbra Streisand‘s much-publicized new jazz album.

The distinction ranked Lambert, 27, ahead of Madonna, the Beatles and Susan Boyle on the online retailer’s sales list.

Lambert’s sales figures are all the more impressive because his label, RCA, made no announcement that the disc could be pre-ordered, so the reaction was basely solely on word of mouth, according to the New York Post.

The record — which features collaborations with Greg Wells, Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Sam Sparro, RedOne, Dr. Luke, and Linda Perry — is due out on November 24, 2009.

So what can we expect from the album?

“It’s really about finding the sound that I want to communicate my ideas to people,” Lambert told People magazine in June. “On Idol, you’re doing cover music that’s tried and true material. I went the route of doing a lot of classic rock because I knew that that was the more vocal and it was songs that everybody connected with.

“In creating new material, I want to do something modern that will stand the test of time, and something that’s new. I’m being careful not to stay stuck in that sound, because it could end up being dated. So, I’m going to try to take the best musically from that era and make it mix with modern pop electronic production. It should be really different.”

    I pre ordered Adam’s album because I saw him in concert and it was not enough. His 20 minute performance flew by. He is magical on stage and his vocals are amazing. Simon said that Adam had the “it” factor and Simon was right, the crowds were wild for Adam all over the country. It was not just his singing and dancing, but his interaction with his audience. Adam was having as much fun as we were. This album is the birth of a superstar. I am buying more than one because I want to keep a few collectors copies of the first album of a major international superstar that will entertain us for decades.

    With all the excitement of expectation of ADAM’s album especially of the theme song Time for Miracles, I’d rather there will be no leak. Someone mentioned that if the song is released before the movie is out, that the song will not be eligible for nomination at the Oscar’s. If true, I hope that nothing is done to jeopardize that possibility. I’m buying his CD and will put some under the Christmas tree for family and friends to enjoy.

    All the naysayers who predicted Adam would be a flash in the pan: Now is the time to eat your words. Adam deserves it all. He is not only amazingly talented, he has wit, intelligence, charm, a drop-dead gorgeous body and face, a kind and giving spirit, and an infectious sense of humor and personality. I was fortunate to meet and talk with him after the Grand Rapid, MI show and found he possesses that rare combination of confidence and humility. Adam, enjoy because you deserve every bit of this, Baby!!!

    I’m a huge Adam fan, but the hype is so crazy that I’m just hoping he delivers and that it all doesn’t backfire on him. I’m just kinda worried. It is humanly impossible to meet the sort of hyperbole surrounding him, I don’t know how he deals with the high expecations, my brain would explode. He did admit the pressure got to him a little.

    I haven’t pre-ordered, I’ll wait for his album. I may not even like his music. I hope I do because he’s a crazy-talented, genuine, sweet, funny, good humored guy.

    I am Adam fan from the begining of Amercan idol#8. he was entertaining and charming.AI will not be same again. It was most exciting,he entertained beyond expectation. He ha that IT facter that none of the other had. I pre-ordered 5 copies and soundtrack of 2012.

    2012 TFM has a great sound and when it is released I am going to purchase it right away! I already preordered his CD that is coming out on 11/24. Adam is going to be a “World-wide Superstar” because of his amazing & awesome talents. American Idol season #8 was the best when Adam Lambert was introduced to the world! Now many fans are hungry for his music and we are all anticipating for his new cd. To me, it was like when I watched Elvis on T.V. (50′s Ed Sullivan Show) and the reaction & impact he made to many people. In fact, Adam is proving to us that he is so multi-talented in his artistry that he is going over the top! This young man is going to be very busy and will be in great demand! I cannot wait to go to his concert! ROCK ON ADAM!
