Ricky Gervais has an embarrassing confession — he broke a whopping THREE director chairs on the set of his new movie The Invention Of Lying.

The British comic — who had a hand in directing the movie as well as writing part of the script and appearing in the flick — admits the seats couldn’t take the strain.

“I do have a director’s chair… and this is embarrassing. I don’t know why I’m telling you this but I broke three,” he said. “Not because they’re those sort of like canvas ones.

“But they must have been faulty ones. I ripped the canvas three times and it’s so embarrassing getting the runner and going: ‘I’ve broken another one’.”

Gervais also revealed he has started to hit the gym every day — so he can eat and drink more.

“I haven’t stopped eating or drinking one bit,” he dished. “In fact I probably eat and drink more now, but I do work out sort of twice as much as I used to.

“I work out every day probably, I do like 30 or 40 minutes. I’ve got a gym in my house now, I’ve got no excuse.

“I work out so I can eat and drink more, basically.”
