Robert Pattinson Wants to Write Music For Eclipse!

The actor — who is currently in Vancouver, Canada, shooting Eclipse — says he’s not only starring in the third Twilight movie — he’s writing music for it, too!

“I’m trying to write some songs for the next movie,” Pattinson tells Mexico’s Joy magazine. “I don’t know if it will be possible because of my schedule, but I want to do it.

“Music is the other side of me, it’s one of the things that complete me and I wouldn’t want to leave it aside for anything in the world. I have the intention of evolving in that aspect. It’s something I want to develop just as much as acting. I want to have a balance between those two things.”

Rob, 23, recently revealed that he’d quite like make an album — but without the help of a record label.

“I might make an album but not through a record company or anything,” he said earlier this year. “I’d like to do something independent.

“I don’t care if people buy it or not. I’d just like to have it just for myself so I can work with good musicians and stuff.

“All my friends are musicians in London. They’re very talented. My best friend wrote one of the songs on the soundtrack with another friend of mine, this guy Marcus Foster who did Bobby Long.

“I went to school with Marcus. He taught me how to play guitar and stuff. He’s an amazing writer and singer and I thought to help somebody out. I’ve got nothing to lose.”

Eclipse hits theaters next year. New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, is released in November 2009.

    I love Rob’s music and I hope he writes/plays more. Marcus Foster and Bobby Long (and Sam Bradley) are all amazing singer/songwriters and it is easy to see how Rob has been influenced. I have seen all 3 of them live several times and each time was blown away. Marcus is the most amazing person I have ever seen perform live. I really can’t explain it other than to say he’s fearless. Bobby’s got this passionate intensity and this voice. And Sam’s energy and style that pull you right in. All 3 are going to be touring this fall/winter so go see them!

    Just a question; Why haven’t the radio people played any of Rob’s two song on the air? They played the other songs on the soundtrack. Could someone answer this question for me?

    I am not a Twilight person but I did see the movie On Demand.

    I LOVED “Let me Sign”, and ran out to buy the soundtrack, not knowing that Rob Pattinson had sung that particular song. I was SOOOOOO PO’d that Let Me Sign was not on the soundtrack!!! What gives????

    I think Rob Pattinson’s voice MADE that pivotal scene in the movie – he need to write and sing more for sure!!!

    I believe all things are possible if you believe in yourself, if you have a desire to write/sing go for it! I think your a great actor. I think the twilight movies brought out a great side to you. I wish you all the desires of your heart.
    Its to bad though in society stars cant just live a life of respect.
