I just love Susan Boyle and her voice, and I’m so proud of Simon for all he’s done to help Susan’s career – I think he truly loves her voice. I do not believed she ’snubbed’ him or his party – that is so unkind. Maggie

If Susan doesn’t want to go that is her right.

We all know she is a shy person, so if such a setting will make her nervous and uncomfortable, why force her? You wouldn’t like it if someone else did it to you would you?

The fact is everyone has different likes and dislikes, so what may seem fine and dandy with you may not sit well with others.

So bottomline just leave her alone and let her decide what she wants to do. Don’t belittle her because of it.

I’m pretty sure in time she will be more comfortable in such public settings as she gets use to fame. So give her a break

Susan isn’t anti-social. She is social a bit shy, but perhaps
the fact that she had a pending engagement and didn’t break it to attend Simon Birthday bash, means that family is more important
than some of the selfish stars he had invited. Give Susan a break she is a nice, funny,religiou a beautiful person, with the voice to match.

the fact that susan did not cancel a pre existing arrangement shows her for the kind of lady she is. Full of integrity and good honest values which is a refreshing change in this day and age!

Barney says Susan Boyle is anti-social. This is a lady who has given up her life to look after her elderly parents, the second of which, her mother, died two years ago in her nineties when Susan was nearer 50 than 40.

Not going to this ridiculous bash was not anti social, it was just an ordinary woman doing what she would prefer to do rather than what the press and Barney think she should do.

I am certain that Simon was not “furious” and don’t forget that when she did her famous audition, he didn’t think she was any good and was quite aggressive towards her claim to be like Elaine Page but that was all edited out.

The fact she stayed in Scotland hopefully shows that she still has her feet on the ground!

Susan “snubs”. Simon “furious”. Just the same sort of rubbish people in the media write to gain attention because they have nothing constructive or interesting to offer. Susan gave her apologies. Simon accepted. Civilised, adult behaviour so no story for the tabloids.It’s a pity no-one sues them for these lies.I wonder sometimes how these people can sleep at night, knowing that they have done their best to cause conflict and anxiety for others. There are at least forty other guest that were not in attendance. Are they being questioned? If not then why not? Susan Boyle phoned Simon Cowell. Enough said. There would be ups and downs attending or not attending. It’s for Susan and Simon to work out. If she did go…would she be snubbing her family? Tabloid trash…write what you must, in the end your words are just words amounting to nothing but wasted paper that could have saved a tree.

Obviously this woman won’t be able to win, no matter what.
I notice you didn’t accuse Trump of snubbing Simon.

It was best for Simon that Susan was unable to attend. She is the most famous woman in the world and more loved than he is. Having her there would’ve taken the spot light off of him at his own party. Everyone deserves to be the “star” at their own 50th birthday party, and if she had been there, she would’ve been the center of attention, not Simon.

Though I’m sure Simon would have liked to have had Susan there and might have been a little disappointed, I doubt very much that he was furious that she couldn’t attend. He’s a 50 year old man, not a five year old child. She had a pre-existing commitment and called to express her regrets in not be able to attend. I’m sure he understood.

Yesterday’s paper says Susan called him personally to tell him she had a preexisting engagement – a family celebration of their deceased parents’ wedding anniversary, and that Simon expressed his DISAPPOINTMENT, NOT FURY! And she didn’t “snub” him. I hope he sues you for printing lies. There were other celebs who didn’t show up either. I don’t see you printing lies about them!

Just another headline-grabbing article with little substance IMO. There is a world of difference between “declining” and “snubbing” – almost as much as there is between being “disappointed” and “furious”.
Simon Cowell doesn’t own Susan Boyle – the lady was unable to attend – the reason why is her business, no-one else’s!
