Penelope Cruz is set to get married — she’s engaged to boyfriend Javier Bardem, according to the New York Daily News.

The newspaper claims the couple have been telling their closest pals they’re planning to walk down the aisle in the next few months.

But sources insist Cruz — who has been battling pregnancy rumors for the past few months — isn’t with child.

“They’re telling friends they will get married,” said one insider. “They say the pregnancy stories aren’t true.”

Cruz, 35, recently told the UK’s Psychologies magazine that she’s keen to settle down and have kids.

“I want to have babies one day but not right now. When I do it I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life,” she said. “I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children.”

“I have a tendency to become a mother to everyone around me,” she added. “My brother and sister are always complaining that I’m too protective.”

Of Bardem, she said, “He’s a wonderful man, a great actor.”

UPDATE: Us Weekly is reporting the couple is set to tie the knot. “They tried to keep it very private and quiet,” a source told the mag.
