Selena Gomez: ‘I Don’t Want to Replace Miley Cyrus’

Selena GomezSelena Gomez isn’t planning to become the next Miley Cyrus — she just wants to do her “own thing” and be herself.

The teen star — who shot to fame on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place – insists she doesn’t want to replace the Hannah Montana star.

“I’m not here to replace anyone,” Gomez insists. “I’m here doing my own thing. I’m proud to be a part of the Disney Channel family and I’m taking it day by day.”

Selena, 17, recently released her debut album, Kiss & Tell, with her band, The Scene.

But she insists acting will always her priority.

“I can’t believe I have a CD!” Gomez gushed. “Acting will always be my number one. I just love acting so much. Music is more of a personal thing I like to do.”

    She should STICK to acting. Not everyone who’s with Disney (Channel) can sing, and I don’t think the company understands that. She’s gorgeous, and funny, but Selena really shouldn’t sing.

    I no! now some weird person is goin to text u, act like they r selena (who is awesome!) and then they wil tease u and play around. It wont b funny to u. trust me, i no. my sis posted her number and begged justin bieber to text her, and some weird dude acted like he was him. i told her it wasnt him but she didnt believe me. she was really mad but the weird dude was cracking up laughing. anyway, yea, dont post ur number where the whole world can see it. thats stupid.
