Elton John to Adopt From Africa?

Elton John and his partner David Furnish are planning to adopt a child from Africa.
The couple — who entered into a civil partnership in 2005 — had originally hoped to become the parents of a 14-month-old Ukranian boy called Lev.
But the country’s government objected, saying that the Rocket Man hitmaker was too old at 62 and that they would not allow homosexuals to adopt.
“We were in Africa for the [Sir Elton John] Aids Foundation and met a boy and immediately thought about adopting him,” Furnish, 46, told British newspaper The Sunday Telegraph of his and Elton’s fresh bid to adopt.
“When we found out he had a maternal grandmother and brother and sister, we realized it wouldn’t be the right thing to take him away from the family he had there.”
