Mel Gibson’s DUI Arrest Erased From His Record

Mel GibsonMel Gibson‘s DUI arrest has been erased from his record.

Mel was arrested in July, 2006 on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. He pled no contest to misdemeanor DUI and was placed on 3 years probation.

The actor’s lawyer, Blair Berk, asked a court to dismiss the drunk driving conviction since Gibson, 53, has successfully met the probation, which included alcohol education classes, AA meetings and paying fines.

“All this means is that Gibson’s been staying out of trouble and it’ll likely be approved by the court,” said L.A. criminal defense attorney Anthony Salerno, who’s not involved with the case.

“An arrest like this never fully disappears from one’s record, but getting a dismissal helps in practical situations like crossing into Canada,” Salerno added.

The judge on Monday (Oct. 6) agreed to expunge the conviction from the Braveheart star’s record, TMZ reports.
