It is one thing to make a mistake and ask for forgiveness but it is another thing to knowingly do something that you are not suppose to do.

it is unfortunate that everyone is coming up with their own interpretations of the Bible just to justify their behavior or the behavior of a celebrity. We can;t add to or take away from the word of GOd just so that we can do whatever we want.

God is forgiving yes..but he is not as tolerant of disobedience as everyone is making him out to be. There are consequences to sin..am I saying that the consequence is hell? No..but here on earth we are not blessed if we do not obey what God says.

And yes he is forgiving, but the Bible also says be not decieved God is not mocked..what a man sows he reaps..it also says that we should not continue sinning (disobedience) just because God is gracious and forgiving.

Listen folks..lets have some common sense here and reason together…If God says do not do then we should not do it simple as that. We can change and twist just to suit our carnal desires all we want..but that is walking in the flesh not the Spirit. And GOd wants us to rule over sin not ther other way around..it is right their in balck and white for us to see.

But we keep on devaluing Gods holy word just so that we can give our favorite celebrities a pass…even give ourselves a pass just becase we want to do what we want to do.

All of you that are critiscizing the commentor for asking a valid question (Jesus said by your fruits you will know them) need to really sit under some good inbiased Biblical Teaching and stop listening to what everyone else has to say about it.

For example..using the do not judge scripture is a misinterpretation of what Jesus was saying there..and shows that you folks really do not understand Gods word at all. It is not a passage to be used to justify our behvaior..Jesus was saying do not condemn someone for doing something that you are doing yourself. he was not saying that we should correct one another or hold one another accountable..that is what fellowship is all about. So the commentor had every right to ask the question because Hudson’s behavior is not compatible with what should be the Christians biblical worldview.

It was a very valid question because Jennifer Hudson in having a baby out of wedlock is not in compliance to the word of GOd. The surest way you can tell a Christian is if they obey God. Mistakes are one thing..we fall down and we get up…but true questions do not willfully disobey what God has said. She has grown up in the churches..shes has heard the word..but yet because she is a celebrity the standard of righteousness does not apply to her any more?

Jacque, its not anyone’s preconcieved notion about what a chrisitan is or isnt– It is God’s word. The Bible clearly delineates what a christian is and what a christian is not– it makes a clear distinction between the works of the flesh (which includes pre-marital sex) and works of the spirit.

Thus we use the Bible’s standard to identify the fruit that one displays.
We must be careful that we do not attempt to change God words to change with the times or the culture of the day. The Bibl e is very clear that heaven and earth will pass away but the word of God will stand forever. That means cultures and what is popular will change from time to time and even die, but God’s word will stand forever. So just because it is ok in American culture does not mean that God has changed his mind about what he said. he meant it for the people in Bible days and he means it for the people in contemprorary days.

Premarital sex is something that is becoming more and more accepted as the time goes by. We live in an age of relativsim (as seen on this board) where there is no absolute truth and nothing is wrong or immoral as long as you are ok with it. And of course we can just do what we want because God will forgive us anyway.

But like I said before there are consequences to our actions. God forbids certain behavior for a reason– let me ask you this: If we obeyed God in the area of sex would there be single mothers? Would STD’s be on the rise? Would there be adultry and the damage that it causes to the family? No..God says these things in his word for a reason..not to cramp our styles or keep us from having fun but to keep us safe and so that his blessings can flow to our lives.

But of course despite what God has said here most of you are…with only one commenter (Jennifer) finding Hudsons behavior odd, justifying her actions and and misappropriating GOd’s grace and forgivness. And many of you will probably find my comments unacceptable and dismiss me as some fanatic that is judging…but I am content in my understanding of the word and the fact that I am not speaking from ignorance.

Jesus is coming back for a church without spot or wrinkle. What kind of church is that? A church that is not conformed to the things or ideas of this world as it says in Romans 12:2..but a church that is seperated unto him, a church that loves the things that he loves and hates the things that he hates..a church that keeps his commandments because they love him.

We must be careful that we are not standing in front of God one day saying LORD only to hear him say “depart from me I knew you not” as it says in the book of Matthew. There is a difference between knowing of him and actually knowing him in such a way that you are committed to doing it his way not your own. The devil is at work trying to discredit Christianity and he does in the most subtle of ways. We are not influencing the world we are being influenced by the word. We are not changing the world we are being changed by the world. The enemies job is lead people astry but he does it in ways that are as sublte as celebreities claiming to be Christians engaging in unchristian like behavior..and having out young people lowering their standards of holiness as well. As a youth pastor it is fustrating trying to keep these kids on track when their favorite celebties are doing things like this..and they say “see Jennifer Hudson is a christian and she has sex before marriage”….anyone agree with me or is everyone here a world conformer?

I am so glad to see that some people like Mel and Jennifer have never sinned or done anything they KNEW were wrong and therefore can pass judgement. But I thought “ALL HAD SINNED AND FALL SHORT…” Women, take the beam out of your eye. Since you probably don’t personnaly know her or the what her relationship is with God, the best thing you can do is pray for her as I will pray for her and both of you. To all the so call Christian folks. If you were a true Christian then you would not have to say it. Being a Christian and for real it will show. God is a forgiven God, and He does not have picks and chooses. Jennifer is of age, and she is not asking for anything either. Jennifer and David have been planing a wedding for a while now. Due to life changes their plans had to change. Before the birth of their son. The wonderful couple had a small private, but very intimate wedding. I am so glad to see how happy she is about her son. We all can see Jennifer is a great mom to her son. Keep your head up baby girl. The haters are going to hate, because that’s what they do. I know God has favor on your life. Jennifer Hudson a very humble and grounded young lady. Please don’t ever change.

I didn’t have my baby out of wedlock, but I did get a divorce a year after he was born. God forgave me for the failure in my marriage. I was born out of wedlock, I was not the sin, the sin was in the act, however most of us in the Church have nothing to say about that until a baby comes, and by then it’s all said and done. I believe this drives people further into sin by covering it up and having abortions and entering into unholy matrimony. The word is the word and as the posters quoted scripture, I can’t argue with that. I can also say, that I want more people in heaven and I’m not going to drive them away by pointing fingers and causing them to run further away from the Lord b/c of my actions. I do not want my head hung in shame, b/c God gave me an opportunity to witness and bring someone to Christ and instead I turned them away. Things should be done in decency and order. No, I do not believe in sugar coating the Word of God. But salvation and deliverance does not happen at the same time. You can be saved and still walk around with sin that God will convict and deliver you from. The Holy Spirit and the Word fo God convicts me way more than any man could.
Jennifer and David, I believe, are married now (secretly). I do not know their hearts, but I would hope that they sought God’s forgiveness and have turned to Him as the head of their house.
