Amy Winehouse’s musical comeback is full steam ahead — her record company have announced she’ll be releasing a new album next year.
Island co-president Darcus Beese said Friday that Amy is working on tracks for her follow-up album to Back To Black, which sold 10 million copies when it came out three years ago.
“I’ve heard a couple of song demos that absolutely floored me,” Beese said.
“Hopefully we’ll have her album next year.”
He said the singer had been writing and recording “in fits and starts”.
Lucian Grange, head of Island’s parent company Universal Music Group, said her new material was sounding “sensational”.
It was claimed earlier this week that Amy — who moved to a £1.4million property at Hadley Wood, north London, in March this year after returning from St Lucia — is planning to move house again after her neighbors started to complain about her 4am recording sessions and frenzied parties.
“I’m not happy with my stuck-up neighbors,” Winehouse told pals, according to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper. “I think it’s moving time again as I am too used to recording in the early hours.”
One of Amy’s neighbors added, “I’m so fed up with the situation.”
