David Letterman’s Wife ‘Wants a Divorce’

David LettermanDavid Letterman‘s wife wants a divorce — and it could cost him hundreds of millions of dollars, reports claim.

Regina Lasko — who Letterman wed in March this year — is furious that her husband admitted to having sexual relationships with female members of his staff.

Although the couple have only been married for a few months, they’ve lived together for several years and have a six-year-old son together, Harry.

Regina and Dave are said to be fighting over everything from his extensive property holdings to custody of Harry.

“It’s become a real battle,” a Late Show insider told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“Regina is humiliated, and she wants to get even with David for his public admission he cheated on her repeatedly during their 23-year relationship.

“She was mortified that David carried on sexual relationships with a number of his female staffers — including his former assistant Stephanie Birkitt.”

    My guess is the exact opposite. David Letterman is a smart man. Although he hasn’t valued Regina, he does value his son.

    As soon as he realizes his son can be happy in a divorced household, he’ll pay up and well, and then return to his preferred lifestyle.

    And Regina will be happier for it.

    While I take everything the National Enquirer says with a grain of salt, I wouldn’t blame her for wanting a divorce. Not sure how you ever trust someone again who has done something like this and the fact that it’s out there for all of America to know about must make it that much worse for her. Thank goodness their son is too young to know what is going on.

    I am not a fan of Dave Letterman but I have to say that he did the right thing in going public and owning up to what he has done in the past, so now I would like to say (IMO) that I understand how his wife would feel the way she does but I do not understand why she and several other women/men feel that if they are going with a person (for a longtime) that it is the same as being married meaning the other person should not look or be intimate with another person. I know this may not be a good idea or good judgement on the other person’s side but it does happen and (IMO) it is not cheating as least not in the same sense is if they were married, that is a different story.

    Frankly, REGINA LASKO was also a Letterman staffer who had a long affair with Letterman (20 + years) so don’t tell me that she thought all those years she was the only woman in his life. She looks like a guy and I’m thinking he couldn’t do any better than her? Maybe she knew that he was fooling around but it was okay b/c no one else knew but hey, what would Julia say (Roberts) – another cheating whore. Or I guess I should say stealing other women’s men away whore. They are both cut from the same bad loaf.

    Letterman also cheated on REGINA when he took her, his son=then 6 (recently) to an island for vacation along with several of his female staffers. Was he bonking all of them? Yes he was. LOL and she didn’t know this? Please. She knew and now because everyone else knows she’s going to sue him and make millions if not wipe him off the face of the earth entirely; which I hope she does.

    Not only were his outrageous antics completely arrogant; laughing about them trivilizes them totally making anything of the apology null and void. He doesn’t care about her, his kid or anything to do with “family”. What he does care about is his money; which after Regina gets through with him – he won’t have anymore to worry about.

    If it’s true he cheated, what a shame. I always had the sense that David Letterman was good to women, including his mother. His love of her seems evident, and his choice of girlfriends seemed to be based, not on a superficial attraction to trophy women, but rather, witty women of substance. And when Drew Barrymore flashed him, I thought he reacted to that in the classiest way possible. One has to assume he did something hurtful for his wife if she required an apology. That said, it sounds as if both he and the CBS producer behaved badly. I hope we don’t see more dirtly laundry emerge, because it will be harder and harder to enjoy David Letterman’s self deprecating humor. It’s one of the things that endeared him to his audience.

    When Regina Lasko worked for Letterman and dated him, he obviously was not married so there is a huge difference.
    David Letterman is a narcissist, plain and simple. He has reached a point in his life like so many showbiz people and certainly politicians where he thinks he is simply entitled to whatever he wants. So, now Mr. Letterman the only consequence for you–that is, the only one you will even slighly feel because you are so self-centered is losing a bit of your money and a bit of your glow.     I was one person who did not feel shocked by the news about Dave. He is too harsh a critic of other people. I am glad, however, to see people posting some positive comments suggesting he try to work it out with his wife. There must be some substance to their relationship to have stayed together so many years. Only Dave knows whether he intended to live the life of a married man. And for those who think and suggest that the life of a single man is so alluring, studies show married men report the greatest degree of satisfaction with their lives. You’ll tell me that it’s because they have their cake and eat it too. Take heart, people, there are still faithful men out there!

But then again, neither does he. I can see the alure of a long term relationship where you build history together. Nothing seems as pathetic as these old guys that change wives every few years (yes, you Rod Stewart)….ironically, they really are alone in the long run. If they end up with someone, I get the impression that that is just their last relationship, not even necessarily their best one.     David Letterman could have afforded to settle with the blackmailer, even if it was blackmail. It’s done all the time in LaLaLand. He must have sat down and done a pro and con list regarding going public. Pro: I get out in front with no coverup and history tells me the public will give me a second chance. Pro: I publicly humiliate my wife by admitting that I cheated on her repeatedly when we were together and she demands divorce which, in the end, is what I prefer because she forced me into it in the first place. This way I pony up and can then go back to my lifelong creepy ways. Con: I lose millions (if I had no prenup-many, many millions) Con: Facts like cheating on her with my assistant when we were married come out beyond my ability to stop them and the public does not forgive me. Con: I give the blackmailer the power to keep intimidating me and he goes unpunished.

    Because ultimately Dave is a dog who can’t help scratching himself down there, he chose to go public and hope for a divorce. As I always say, the poor wife, although, in this case, she’ll end up being the richer, not poorer, for it.

    I will not be surprised to legitimately hear Regina Lasko wants a divorce from Letterman and she deserves all she can get in that divorce along with hefty child support. I do think it is premature to report that the divorce is in the making. I doubt Lasko is ready to totally throw in the towel. She is pretty sensible and may want to give their marriage a chance. What a sad day for the Letterman/Lasko family. Dave’s poor choices and lack of respect for his wife, his son, his mother and sisters as he drags the Letterman name through the mud. Birkitt is now a NY attorney and supposedly Letterman paid her tuition so that she eventually can be his attorney. It is unethical conduct for an attorney to have sex with a client. Perhaps it was Birkitt that prepared a prenuptial agreement for Letterman before his marriage to Lasko. With all the perks reported from trips to tuition to gifts for Birkitt and other assistants, did they report them as gifts on their IRS returns or as services rendered? Letterman probably wishes he had paid for the one-page screen play and never gotten involved in the nightmare of his life. He can see what it feels like when he belittles others that have gotten themselves in a similar position and yet he is no better. One day little Harry will google his father’s name, as all children do, and find the sexual scandal will be the focus of the biography. Letterman’s latest mistress’s name will be more prominent that his mother’s name. Letterman has lost the respect and trust of his wife. Was it worth it, Dave? I think if there is more investigation that it will come out that Birkitt did not have clean hands in all of this. She wanted the prize and leaving her diaries around for Halderman to read makes one wonder at her motive. She knew Letterman was married and yet her conduct put her in the same league as Monica Lewinski with Clinton. Halderman may serve some time but Letterman, by far, loses the most in all of this. Prayers are with Lasko and son.

Wasn’t she living in Montana or Utah before they married? Seems she was really only committed to the money herself.     It would be nice if Lasko can forgive Letterman and the family remain together. Letterman really is a fool for continuing his relationships with multiple women. How dangerous is that with STDs out there. Letterman then sends his mistress/assistant to law school so she can represent him in personal legal matters. The state bar associations frown on attorneys having sexual relationships with clients. Mistress Birkitt received tuition, expensive gifts and travel from her sugar daddy Letterman and I wonder if IRS will be looking closely at Letterman’s company and CBS as to whether those perks were reported, along with the perks provided to other staff members.     Stephanie Birkitt IS the new Monica Blewinsky. She’s done at Letterman’s show, in his life and has a stain on her bigger than that which Bubba blew on the dress. Turns out I was right. Whatever I think about her, this has ended right. Letterman is exposed to be a hypocritical dog. It doesn’t seem to be having an effect on his professional life, but I predict his marital difficulties will just get worse with Regina finally asking for a divorce. I don’t think it will happen overnight but at some point she’ll make the decision that she is worth and deserves more than this as a human being and will split.

It’s all determined in dollars, I guess. What a sad group you are. Do any of you understand that she’ll NEVER be able to clean out his money? He’s the one with the huge contract because, like it or not, he’s the one with the talent, not her.

    Stephanie Birkitt IS the new Monica Blewinsky. She’s done at Letterman’s show, in his life, and has a stain on her bigger than that which Bubba blew on the dress. Miss B. is either a big dolt or a conniving SOB. Either way, she is bad news. I mean come on, she just happened to leave her diary behind as she moved out. Sorry, ain’t buying it. I remember thinking to myself when I would see her on the air that she seemed a) too talentless and b) too forward with Letterman for something not to be up there (double entendre: Dave’s genitalia). Turns out I was right. Whatever I think about her, this has ended right. Letterman is exposed to be a hypocritical dog. It doesn’t seem to be having an effect on his professional life, but I predict his marital difficulties will just get worse with Regina finally asking for a divorce. I don’t think it will happen overnight but at some point she’ll make the decision that she is worth and deserves more than this as a human being and will split.

    I was disgusted with David Letterman . Did not watch his show once it was out there. For the first time,last nite I did, to see Drew Brees, and then Letterman does another stupid thing… now I’m outta there !!!
    Regina should get all she can and take her child with her.

    I was married to my husband for 33 years, seems he was never married to me. Says he meant the vows at the time he took them. Now he is somewhere with a gal 40 years younger and a young (new) child. He is 73 years old… go figure. Of course I divorced him.. hurt to do so,, but no other way.. You go Regina

    I am not condoning Lettermans actions but he does his job and does it well and 1 doesn’t have anything to do with the other. 2ndly unless this woman lives in a cave or brought up by monkies I have to ask if she was really that naieve before they were married and really didn’t know that he was cheating before they were married, if she even had a clue he was screwing around on her than shame on her for even agreeing to marry him. looks like to me she was gold digging. lets face it if she left him before the marriage she only would have left with child support for Harry n0w were looking at child support alimony property etc. and for as wrong as Dave was to cheat its also wrong to marry someone with the intent to divorce him later so you can get your hands on his money and property
