Kanye West still “feels terrible” about that whole Taylor Swift thing — and is planning a getaway to an Indian religious retreat in a bid to turn his life around, it has been claimed.

The Stronger rapper came under fire for crashing Taylor Swift‘s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV VMAs in September.

As Swift was being presented with the Best Female Video prize, West grabbed the microphone and told the star-studded audience that Beyonce should have won.  “Yo Taylor,” Kanye said, “I’m really happy for you and I’ma let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time!”

Kanye is now taking time out re-assess his life and is planning to escape to spend a month at a Hindu ashram in Pondicherry, India.

“He feels terrible about hurting Taylor Swift and sees it as another sign that his life is going in the wrong direction since his mother died,” a source told Star magazine.

Beyonce recently gave her opinion on Kanye’s actions.

“Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award’,” she said.

“And when they didn’t call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’”

“But in the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment — and I didn’t have to make an acceptance speech.”
