I would get leftover change from a dollar or a dollar or I would get the very occassional $5 for a big order but obviously not a lot of people know to tip when they are getting to-go. I completely understand where you are coming from, you get take out to save on drinks and tip but coming from a to-go girl you are not losing much by throwing $2 her way and it'll be much appreciated. I became very interested in how people concieve tipping ever since the twitter waiters rant and miley and I couldn't believe how many people think tipping is a priveledge when you are dining in a restaurant. A waitress gets paid about $4 an hour and everything else depends on tips. If you are a person who thinks tipping is optional, McDonalds is the place for you. Fast food chains and cooking at home are both great options for people who don't understand that tipping is necessary when in a sit down restaurant. You don't even have to get out of your car to get a freshmade steak and macaroni, the young girl making minimum wage just boxed and wrapped everything for you and went outside (rain or shine) and delivered it to your car. $70 worth of food is alot of food, and you are counting on a 16 year old girl who makes sure everything is hot and ready for you, no matter how big of an order you place, and you think its ok not to give her a couple bucks.
