Heidi Klum gave birth to a daughter Friday.
Lou Samuel was born Oct. 9 at 7:46pm in Los Angeles, Klum’s rep confirms.
The Project Runway host’s husband, Seal, released the following statement Monday night:
“It’s difficult to imagine loving another child as much as you love your existing children,” Seal writes. “Anyone who has a family will tell you this. Where will one find that extra love? If you love your existing children with all of your heart, how then can one possibly find more heart with which to love another?”
“On Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at 7:46 p.m., the answer to this question came in the form of our fourth child and second daughter,” he continues. “Lou Sulola Samuel was born, and from the moment she looked into both of our eyes, it was endless love at first sight. She is beautiful beyond words and we are happy that she chose us to watch her grow over the coming years.”
Klum, 36, recently insisted she won’t have more than four children.
“We’re outnumbered. Four is perfect. Three is a lot. But four? It’s a lot of work,” she told USA Today in August. “We’re hands-on, and we feel like this is what we can handle.”
Klum has also revealed that she struggles with the last month of pregnancy.
“The last month is unbelievable, how rapidly your stomach goes. It’s huge,” she told Page Six magazine. “The thighs, the butt — everything explodes in the end.”
Seal and Heidi already have two sons together — Henry, 3, and Johan, 2.
Seal is also the adoptive father of Leni, whose father is Heidi’s ex, Flavio Briatore.
