Michael Jackson’s This Is It to be Boycotted by Fans

Posted by Adam

Michael JacksonMICHAEL Jackson‘s fans are boycotting This Is It, the film about his last performance.

Thousands of the late singer’s followers have formed a group called ‘This Is Not It’, to protest against the movie, which is due to be released on October 28.

The group has accused the AEG and Sony  — the firms behind the film — of concealing Michael’s poor health and glossing over the stress he was under as he prepared for his 50-date London residency.

A statement on the group’s website reads, “The true state of Michael Jackson’s failing health was being hidden from you by those who are making a profit from the screening of the This Is It movie.

“The movie is made of a careful choice of footage taken during Michael Jackson’s last rehearsals. Out of 110 hours of footage, a few scenes were selected in which Michael Jackson smiled, in spite of being in a dire state.

“The promoters for This Is It, ignored the signs, ignored the pleas, and in fact, actively covered up the truth. What you will see on that screen is part of that cover up.”

If people do decide to see the film, the ‘This Is Not It’ urges them to “see it with different eyes”.

The statement continues, “Should you decide to watch it, we hope that you will see this movie and the greed that produced it with different eyes, because you are watching the product of those who should bear much guilt for the passing of the world’s greatest entertainer, Michael Jackson.

“This movie is not a true representation of what happened to Michael Jackson in his last weeks, nor is it the polished, live performance that Michael would have wished the world to see. It is their lie. The true story behind is one of neglect, greed, and inhumanity.”

But Michael’s close friend Elizabeth Taylor — who has seen an advance screening of the film — sobbed when she watched the movie because she loved it so much.

“It is the single most brilliant piece of filmmaking I have ever seen. I wept from pure joy at his God-given gift. There will never, ever be the likes of him again,” she wrote on her Twitter.

Michael died of acute Propofol intoxication on June 25.

Please get it right. Only some of MJ’s fans will be boycotting the movie. Many of us want to have a careful look at MJ to assess whether he looked healthy during the weeks leading up to his death and this is the only way to see him larger than life and up close. Michael was abused by the media for a long time with false stories and photoshop photos and this abuse still continues today. Fans who boycott the movie are wrong to speak out since they are making allegations without proof which is what Michael had to enduire while alive. They are perpetrating the same crime the media stands accused of by all MJ’s fans and honest people around the world. Yes, Sony and AEG are making money but so too is The Michael Jackson’s Family Trust. Michael had worked with Kenny Ortega for 20 yrs according to reports I have read and if he didn’t trust him he’d never have asked him to direct the London O2 concerts. So this fan is going!! By the way I grew up with MJ’s music from the ABC days to today’s This is it. He was never an icon or an idol but a beautiful human being to me Vitiligo and all. I thank God for my being here while he was here although I have never seen him other on the TV or a newspaper.

According to the autopsy report Michael was in great shape for a person of his age and height. If you don’ want to go and see the movie DON”T GO!!!! Michael estate gets money from this movie and think he would want his mother and children to profit from it.

Saw the movie yesterday. It was truly a spectacular re-creation of what the world missed in London.

Tomorrow I will watch the film for the second time, just because this is the direct chance i can watch him, I don’t want to miss the chance. Many Chinese fans do. But we do know time was really hard for him during the preparation, so we cherish him even more. As for the cause of his pass away, I believe Heaven’s vengeance is slow but sure.
Michael, we love and miss you forever!

Mj fans I being one of them will buy anything authorized by his estate period. I ahve already seen the movie three times and I still have tickets for 3 more times. I will be buying more later. I have bought all the music and his Monnwalk Autobiography from MJ and just received my This is it CD from SONY, and a poster for this is it. And I will be getting the Opus, and the DVD blu ray.
