Michael Buble’s Girlfriend Thought he Was Gay
SINGER Michael Buble’s girlfriend thought he was gay — because on the first night they met, he spent the whole evening chatting to her male friend!
The Home hitmaker met Argentian actress Luisana Lopilato at one of his concerts last November.
“I don’t speak Spanish and she had no English,” Buble told British newspaper The Sun. “But the guy did so I just spoke to him. I was a bit nervous because of how beautiful she was.
“I later found out she was on the phone to her mother the whole time saying, ‘Buble’s gay. He’s hitting on my friend’.”
After finding out that Luisana was single, Michael, 34, asked her out and the couple have been together ever since — much to the unhappiness of the 22-year-old beauty’s devotees.
“I get the feeling some people — perhaps her fans — don’t like me,” the singer added. “The media there have said terrible things about me.”
Buble recently admitted it took him a while to get over his ex-girlfriend Emily Blunt.
“One of the worst and greatest things that ever happened to me,” he said of his split from the Devil Wears Prada star. “When it happened, obviously it was devastating, man.
“Emily is truly one of the most amazing and wonderful people that I’ve ever known.
“And really, even now I sit and I’m thrilled that I got a chance to be a part of someone’s life who’s touched so many lives and is so amazing.
“And it’s weird – there’s no more pain. There’s feelings of hurt, but I’m just proud of her. And I’m still great friends with her brother, and I love her family to death.
“And it gave me an opportunity to take a good look at myself and to want to change, and to want to become a better guy.”
