Adam Lambert Unveils ‘Campy, Ridiculous’ Album Cover!
ADAM Lambert has unveiled the “campy” cover for his eagerly-awaited debut album, For Your Entertainment.
In the artwork, the openly gay American Idol runner-up, 27, is seen wearing yellow eye shadow, black eye liner and black nail polish to accent a blue ‘do.
But, before you pass comment, Lambert insists the cover is supposed to look outrageous!
“Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy,” he wrote in a Twitter post Wednesday. “It’s an homage to the past. It IS ridiculous.”
“For those that don’t get it: oh well…Glad to have gotten your attention,” added Lambert. “androgyny. Rock n Roll.”
Adam also revealed what fans expect musically from the new disc. “It’s modern and futuristic,” he said.
As for the lead single, also called For Your Entertainment, out next week: “Get ready to shake yo asses to this song,” he said. “It’ll make ya dance for sure.”
Lambert took to his Twitter account last week to confirm that he and Lady GaGa had been collaborating on a record.
“Yes it’s true: I spent yesterday in the studio w the insanely talented and creative Lady GaGa recording a song that she wrote! I love her,” Lambert wrote.
“Gaga wrote the song a while ago and she thought it would be a good fit for me. It’s a solo track. I feel so honored and lucky to be asked.
“GaGa just gets it, ya know?”

Adam is an exceptionally talented musician that has more to offer this world than music. He is an actor, dancer, and his training in the theater will carry his career throughout his life. Versitility is the name of the game in the very competitive entertainment business. And Adam has that versitility.
If you think his album cover is “out there”, well, it’s called creativity…which some artists today have totally lost. Lady GaGa has brought the creative market back. Adam collaborating with her is only ammunition for the entertainment business to be prepared for music to be heard at its best and reflected on album covers, billboards, tour pamphlets, all the way through tour and concert stage extravaganza! Music is so much more than what you hear. All your senses are involved…seeing the artwork, hearing the music, being touched by the music in your heart and mind, recognizing the aromas in the air while listening to a song, and best of all, the yearning hunger you get when you develop a taste for Adam’s music you just can’t wait for that next album so you can experience more of the greatness and something new!

I think Adam made a mistake. He is such a good-looking guy why make fun of that? I am very disappointed. I was worried for a long time now that he would do something dumb. Yes, well I was right. Adam, I hope you don’t minimize the possibly award winning entertainer you obviously are on that beautiful and moving Time for Miracles video. I’m an older fan and I don’t get it. I don’t get the humor or homage. It’s very confusing. I will support anything you do that makes sense to me and my age group with even a little stretch. Love that cover! Its campy, outrageous, gorgeous and it does the perfect marketing job: get people talking and there is no way you can forget it. Not that many people saw and heard Adam on AI, but now with all the controversy going on in all the media this introduces Adam to many people. Most people who never heard Adam on AI won’t probably remember his name by tomorrow, but they sure will remember the CD’s cover when they will see it in a store. If any of the songs is played on the radio and they like it but don’t usually go out of their way to buy CD’s the chances are very good that they will remembered the CD cover and probably will buy it when they see it!
Adam can SING, no doubt. His choice of an album cover is tongue-in-cheek. I think it is funny. I hardly doubt he goes through everyday life wearing this persona. To all of you that are “disappointed” in Adam—-hey, it is his life—you either enjoy his music and the ride he takes us on—–or you sit around passing judgement. I am going to go for the roller coaster ride!!!! He does not need to live by my–or anyone else’s— rules—-he can feel free to be himself and I will follow him as a fan.

We, the music lovers of the world, were thrilled by Adam’s amazing voice. The fact that he is good looking was icing on the cake. When we learned of his sexual preference, we took it in stride because of his amazing voice. Let us all remember that this is a man with a once in a generation voice, who is very good looking, who happens to be gay AND who is as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside. Enjoy the cover. It is art. Enjoy his music. He is going to astound us. We simply have to let him be who he is – the best performer to come along in decades.

I think he stepped in it. There is nothing to “get” about this cover. He is showing us his ego, that’s he’s too good to even try to fit in in any way. I have awakened daily since I saw him on AI, logging onto my computer checking to see what he’s up to. I have watched so many Youtubes of him my co-workers laugh at me. I went to concerts and had my husband accuse me of infidelity! I saw this cover and my stomach turned. My beautiful, sexy, exciting, charismatic Adam was a girl! An airbrushed girl! I grew up through the era he speaks of. I have nothing against androgynous people. I have defended Adam with no limits except losing my teeth in a fight, but this cover! Where is my Adam! This poster art, airbrushed piece of crap is awful! I know, I know, he chose it. There went the heterosexual purchases! I’m a woman, 56 years old, have done the drugs, the free sex, etc. I am openminded. I want it all for him, he is a brilliant singer. But man oh man, I saw this display of ego and backed wayyyyyy off feeling emotions for him. I am actually embarrassed for him, eventho he could care less. Oh well, shoot me. The disappointment is severe.

The cover is crazy, but I guess he wants it that way. His voice sounds like an older woman (Cher?) and he looks like one too. Not impressed, never have been. We need more authentic artists, not just people who crave attention and fame.

He’s lovely! The cover is a work of art–smooth and sensual and creative, just like his music. His will be the first rock music album I buy in my life. I still prefer the soft, emotional ballads I heard him sing on AI, but anything he does is okay with me.His sexuality matters not at all to me; his artistry is what moves me emotionally. And I am of the older generation, many of whom seem to be aghast at this CD. Why? He is marvelously unique.
I am 86 year old and I love Adam. I have not seen his kind of talent since Elvis. I went to the Sunrise Idol tour in July and I went there just to see Adam. He had me and many other people my age on their feet for his whole set. Adam brought sexy Rock Star back. If I were younger I would have thrown my bra. I sat in the 7th row but for his next tour I want front row seats and I am taking my daughter and her friend with me. For those of you who want to find fault, you need to find something important to vent about. Leave Adam alone. He has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard, and at my age I have heard a lot of voices. What difference does it make if you like the cover or not when you lsten to the most beautiful voices of all time? I have bought Time for Miracles and his album. I watched Adam today on Oprah and I will watch Adam on the American Music Awards. If you are not enjoying this young man’s rise to fame you are missing out on musical history.

Great spirits often find violent opposition from mediocre weak minds. Adam is a great spirit, and there sure are alot of mediocre and sub par minds out there, evident in the hateful commments.I wonder if theses poor souls realize they are showing themselves for who they truely are with the hateful comments.
