Jay-Z Eyes Career as Wedding DJ
JAY-Z has a backup plan if his career heads south — he’ll become a DJ!
The Run This Town hitmaker — who’s married to Beyonce Knowles — says he’ll charge a fortune for spinning discs at bar mitzvahs and weddings.
“I’ve got a whole plan,” said the star, whose real name is Shawn Carter. “I’m gonna get me a little Serato set, some DJ software. I’m gonna work on that for six months, then I’m gonna find out which DJ makes the most and charge double and tour, do bar mitzvahs, weddings.
“I’m gonna have video behind me and dancers. I’m gonna have people just go out and pour champagne when I get to a certain song. I’m going to make a whole show of this thing.
“If you want to book me, book me early, because the prices will be a little better because when I get good, I’m really going to go for it.
“I’m definitely going to go by a different name. I want people to hear it and be like, ‘Wow!’. It’s got to look good in lights.”
