RAPPER Jay-Z says he’s “the s**t” when it comes to performing — but admits he never used to be very good.

The 99 Problems hitmaker says he was a “horrible” performer until he turned to U2 frontman Bono for some tips.

“These days I’m the s**t, but I used to be a horrible performer,” Jay-Z said. “I was terrible, because I’m not really an animated guy and really move around, so I had to figure out a way how to convey my message and talk to people in compact movements, all the while being entertaining. Right?

“There is a very thin line between not moving and being boring. To be a powerful performer like Bono. He doesn’t move around, he’s just a powerful performer. He knows how to exaggerate his movements.

“He knows how to have that conversation without moving around much. I don’t know if he moves… anywhere. He’s a dynamic performer.”

Jay, real name Shawn Carter, recently revealed that he’d quite like to be a wedding DJ.

“I’ve got a whole plan,” he said. “I’m gonna get me a little Serato set, some DJ software. I’m gonna work on that for six months, then I’m gonna find out which DJ makes the most and charge double and tour, do bar mitzvahs, weddings.

“I’m gonna have video behind me and dancers. I’m gonna have people just go out and pour champagne when I get to a certain song. I’m going to make a whole show of this thing.

“If you want to book me, book me early, because the prices will be a little better because when I get good, I’m really going to go for it.

“I’m definitely going to go by a different name. I want people to hear it and be like, ‘Wow!’. It’s got to look good in lights.”
