KATE Hudson has shot down claims she’s engaged to her New York Yankees slugger beau Alex Rodriguez.

The Bride Wars star, 30, says paparazzi pictures of her hands are to blame for the engagement speculation.

“Did you know that it was this ring, on my right hand?” Hudson tells the latest of Elle magazine.

“I’m like, ‘Why would I even respond? What would I say if you’re going to lie about something ridiculous?’”

Hudson — who has been dating Rodriguez for the past six months and has a son, Ryder, with her ex-husband Chris Robinson — believes that most men are pretty straightforward.

“I believe they’re really simple,” she said. “Every guy likes to say they’re complicated but they’re so easy to figure out.

“What did [relationship advice radio host] Dr Laura say? Something like, ‘All men want is sex and for you to make them a sandwich’.

“I thought that was really funny — and not entirely untrue.”

It was recently reported that Kate and Alex share a love of sex.

“They love sex!” a source close to the couple told Us Weekly magazine. “They talk about it all day. Kate gets graphic talking about his body, even to her parents.”
