Nicolas Cage Pulls Out of Film Screening
NICOLAS Cage has decided not to attend the New York screening of his new film Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans following the death of his father.
August Coppola — the brother of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola and a professor at San Francisco State University — died last Tuesday after suffering a heart attack.
The Grindhouse star, 45, laid his dad to rest on Thursday October 29, alongside family and friends at the Christ the King Church in Hollywood, California.
He was set to walk the red carpet alongside co-stars Val Kilmer and Eva Mendes days later, at the November 8 event — but has now bowed out of the screening according to the New York Post.
Coppola is also survived by sons Christopher and Marc and three grandchildren. He was the uncle of filmmakers Sophia and Roman as well as actor Jason Schwartzman.
In July last year, August posed for a family portrait to promote exclusive fashion company Louis Vuitton’s latest luggage campaign.
