Joe JacksonMICHAEL Jackson‘s father Joe wants a monthly allowance from his tragic son’s estate.

The Jackson patriarch filed papers in L.A. County Superior Court Friday, claiming he’s “entitled to his own independent family allowance.”

In the documents, Leonard Rowe — who claims to have been Michael’s manager — says the King of Pop used to give his mother Katherine up to $60,000 a month to live on, and that Michael instructed her to give half of it to Joe.

Joe claims Michael’s estate has “earned more than $100 million dollars in the first seven weeks following Michael Jackson’s death” and is “well able to afford a family allowance for Joe Jackson.”

Joe says he spends $15,425 a month: $2,500 eating out; $2,000 for air travel; $3,000 for hotel bills; $1,000 for groceries; $1,200 for rent; and $50 in charitable contributions.

“The Special Administrators have been made aware that Joe Jackson filed papers asking to be paid a family allowance from the Estate,” Howard Weitzman, one of the attorneys the Special Administrators for Michael Jackson’s Estate, told TMZ. “It was quite surprising to learn of the request. Mr. Jackson’s Petition will be considered as are all requests for money from Michael’s Estate.”

Joe, 80, recently told US TV show Extra that his son — who died June 25 — is worth more dead than alive.

“He’s worth more dead than when he was alive,” he said. “I’d rather have him alive.”

    I have yet to see this "so-called" father even shed a tear for his beloved son. I never even met Michael, yet I cry almost every day because I miss him. There is a reason that MJ left his dad out of his will and this poor excuse for a father still wants to take advantage of his son in death. There are EIGHT other children in this family, you mean to tell me that none of them can help out their penniless father. Just look into Joe Jackson's eyes- don't you see two huge dollar signs staring back at you? SHAMEFUL.

    How in the world do you spend $2500 a month on eating out and still need $1000 in groceries? and $50 in charitable contributions?! The @sshole eats 4-5 family worth of meals a month and picks off whatever is stuck on his shoe at the end of the day to donate.

    Joe Jackson is as low as they come. Everyone has there hand out for Michaels money. Joe Jackson did his part to get Michael started, that's what a real FATHER does for their children. From all accounts he was abusive to Michael, and I believe the words Michael UTTERED about that part of his life. JOE JACKSON needs to do what we all are doing that have lost their jobs. CUT BACK ON DINING, AND ENTERTAINMENT, AND MOVE INTO A SMALLER LESS CHEAPER HOME, and watch how he can survive for the rest of his MISERABLE LIFE.

Joe Jackson wanted an easy way out and made those children to become his meal ticket. Poor MJ lived in fear of that man. He cheated on his wife, had sex with other women in the hearing of his sons, fathered a daughter in his extra-marital affairs, beat the sh_t out of Michael Jackson, destroyed Michael's self-esteem by constantly calling him "ugly" and "big-nosed", promoted his own record label a few days after his son's death…and now he wants $15,000 a month from Michael's estate to cover his extravagant lifestyle?! Joe Jackson, just because your son's estate is making some good bucks doesn't mean you should be able to share in some of it. There is a reason why Michael didn't include you in his will in the first place!

    So, you think its alright for Sony and all of them to get the profits, but the father who allowed his career to manifest and also who he provided a monthly allowance should get nothing. I think that when you when the highlights from entertainment news, shows, Internet headlines, etc, you should get all the facts. It was stated that Michael provided the parents with a $60,000 monthly allowance when he was living.

    Mr. Jackson didn't state that his son was worth more dead than alive in the way you all are quoting. He made a statement on how others are getting monies off of him and he stated with the quote that he wanted him alive.

    Man does this man ever give up? He horribly abused his children for his own personal greed and now he is asking for more? Isn't it perfectly clear how much Michael hated his father? He hated him so much that he wanted to be as far removed from anything that even remotely resembled his father, even going to the extent of becoming white! He even kept Joe Jackson out of his will. Personally, I believe it was Joe Jacksons fault for all of Michaels mental problems and his mother was no better by not protecting Michael and his siblings from this criminally abusive man. In my opinion, HE DESERVES NOTHING!
