STEVEN Tyler has reportedly quit Aerosmith.
Guitarist Joe Perry said the singer — who recently injured his shoulder — has left the band “as far as I can tell”.
Perry says Tyler hasn’t been returning his phone calls, and isn’t in touch with the rest of the group either.
“Steven quit as far as I can tell,” Joe told the Las Vegas Sun. “I don’t know any more than you do about it. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever.
“Obviously, he hasn’t been giving 100 percent for a long time.
“Frankly, the last few months I’ve been wanting not to rock the boat. I don’t want him canceling any more gigs. We really wanted to do these last four. We didn’t want to call him out or get him pissed off, for whatever reason. So we just let things lie.”
Perry, 59, has even Twittered about tensions with the lead singer, 61.
“Hasn’t called me in months,” Perry wrote. “A bit cold. What about fans? The people that also love him and put him where he is. After 40 years? … Last time I phoned him he hung up on me.”
And if Tyler never gets back in touch, that won’t stop the rest of the band from moving on.
“We’ll probably find somebody else,” Perry added, “and then we’ll be able to move Aerosmith up a notch.”
In a recent interview with Classic Rock Magazine, Tyler said he wants to concentrate on “Brand Tyler”.
