OPRAH Winfrey doesn’t normally like to share!
But it looks like the chat show queen is making a special exception for the December issue of O: The Oprah Magazine — she shares the cover with fellow TV star Ellen DeGeneres.
In the accompanying interview, Ellen opened up about her relationship with girlfriend Portia de Rossi.
DeGeneres says she and Portia “are perfect for each other.
“She is so beautiful and so smart and so funny.”
“I have that sense of ‘I’m done now.’ I’m settled,” Ellen says. “I know that part of my life is taken care of. I’ve got love. I’ve got someone who will be with me till the day I die.”
Ellen then went on to discuss her role replacing Paula Abdul as a judge on American Idol.
“They came to me, and it was a total surprise,” she says. “I like to try new things because I get bored so easily. And I like the show, so I thought it was a great idea.”
The ninth season of Idol premieres in January 2010.
“Ellen DeGeneres is a woman who can make things happen,” Winfrey adds of her cover companion. “When she decided she wanted to be on the cover of O, she pulled out all the stops. It worked — for only the second time in O history, I’m sharing the cover with a woman I adore.
“When Ellen arrived at the photo shoot for our cover, I didn’t have to ask her how she was doing: it showed on her face.
“She radiated the kind of peace and satisfaction that comes only when you’re living at your highest potential.”
