ROBERT Pattinson has revealed how Twilight producers tried to “fix” his teeth — and he hated it!

The hunky British star — who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the smash hit movie franchise — says he had to undergo dental work before shooting the flick.

“They tried to fix my teeth,” Pattinson said. “And they shaved these little gaps on, they tried to do an Invisalign thing. And I put the Invisalign thing on and was like, ‘I don’t wanna wear that s–t’.

“Those gaps between my teeth have decayed and caused me so many problems. That’s the one thing I regret doing because I wasn’t thinking at the time.”

Pattinson, 23, recently said that because he’s English, he doesn’t have to worry about his looks.

“I just wanted to make an American film, and I wanted to be relatively good in it,” he said. “I have never pushed to do anything. As soon as you start going to the gym every day and try to look like a movie star, you’re going down a worrisome track. Being an English guy you get a lot more breaks. You’re allowed to look a little worse. It’s that thing about English teeth. Although Canadian teeth are pretty bad as well!”

The star also admits he finds it difficult to cope with his worldwide fame.

“It worries me, because the whole Twilight thing keeps getting bigger and bigger, and now it’s so big that even my own ego can’t deal with it,” he said. “A certain amount of success you can mentally deal with, but there’s a point where you think, ‘Jesus Christ, what is this? I’m not that great!’ “
