Eminem Lands Role in 3D Film
EMINEM has landed a role in the upcoming horror flick Shady Talez — the rapper’s first major movie role since 2002.
The Stan hitmaker — who previously starred in biopic 8 Mile as himself — will play a different role in each of the three parts of Shady Talez, which will be shot in 3D.
“Having worked with him so many times, the thing people don’t realize is that he’s a fantastic actor,” said music video director Joseph Hahn, who has made clips for the Eminem’s tracks We Made You and Without Me.
“He actually stays in character on set. He’s a method actor, like Daniel Day Lewis.”
The star — real name Marshall Mathers — will also write a four-part comic book series for animators Marvel, to coincide with the movie’s release.
The script will be co-written by Eminem and Underworld star Kevin Grevioux and I, Robot’s John Davis is expected to co-produce.
Eminem revealed in June this year that he’s keen to make a return to Hollywood.
“I am looking at scripts and I’m looking to get back into it quite soon,” he said. “I don’t know exactly how soon I will get back but it will be soon.
“I do have a cameo coming up [in Adam Sandler's Funny People] but I can’t tell you what the next thing will be or what movie it will be. It is happening though.”
