Celine Dion Baby News Confirmed by Rep — Singer Vows to Try Again
SINGER Celine Dion has vowed to try for another baby.
Speaking to Canadian newspaper Journal de Montreal, Celine’s husband Rene Angelil said Wednesday that the latest in vitro fertilization treatment she underwent last month was unsuccessful.
“We’re living the reality of the majority of couples who face these procreation techniques,” he said.
Celine — who was due to give birth in May — confirmed this past August that she was expecting.
The superstar’s rep has since released the following statement:
“It is true that Celine is not pregnant.” the rep said. “The doctor at first thought [the in vitro embryo] took but it did not. So she waited some time and tried again with no success… They plan to try again.”
Angélil — whose battle with cancer had raised doubts that the couple could conceive again — has three other children from two previous marriages.
“You know, I’m not really a singer,” Dion told People magazine in 2007. “My life is to be a mom. It is what I enjoy the most. I will take a chance with my music. I don’t take risks with my family.”
