Hilary Swank Inspired by Her Mom
HILARY Swank says her mom is her biggest inspiration.
The Oscar-winning actress says her mother has always believed in her — which made the star think she’s capable of anything.
“My mum,” Swank told London’s Metro newspaper when asked about her biggest inspiration, “because she gave me the great gift of believing in me, which made me believe in myself. She said, ‘You can do anything you want, as long as you work hard enough.’
However, Swank admits her mom would like her famous daughter to take on roles where she doesn’t die.
“My mum always say, ‘Can’t you just act in a film where you live to see the credits?’ It just seems I find these movie roles that are compelling in one way or another, not because they die, but just because they have lives that I find inspiring”
Hilary, 35, recently revealed that she was picked on for being poor.
“It wasn’t that being poor made me feel like an outsider,” she told Britain’s Stylist magazine. “It was the way I was treated. I realized, at a young age, what class difference was. Parents of friends wouldn’t allow me in their house.
“I felt different and wondered why I didn’t belong, why I couldn’t be at their house playing with their kids. It was through watching movies or reading books that I learned about relationships. Perhaps that’s why I like these types of roles.”
