John Cusack Hopes 2012 Movie Will Help People to Appreciate The Planet

John CusackJOHN Cusack hopes his brilliant new movie, 2012, will help people appreciate the planet.

The actor — who plays Jackson Curtis in the big budget disaster film — says he’s hoping something good will come from the production.

“I hope it makes people grateful for what they have,” he said.

“I hope this movie helps to reconcile people and to help them enjoy life while at the same time addressing global warming. Although mostly, this is supposed to be a fun popcorn movie.”

2012 hits theaters November 13 — that’s today!

The flick’s soundtrack — Time for Miracles – has been recorded by American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, who recently insisted he’s proud of his work for the movie.

“As soon as Idol ended, I was busy that month, already working on my album, with different producers, doing writing sessions and then the opportunity came up for the 2012 song,” he said. “Alain and Natasha’s demo for it was this beautiful melody, just a beautiful acoustic kind of rock feel and then with (producer) Rob Cavallo, we made it like an epic kind of rock power ballad that I’m very proud of.”
