Elton John Scraps Another Gig
AILING Elton John has been forced to cancel another gig after being told by doctors it’s too soon for him to return to the stage.
The Rocket Man hitmaker — who was recently hospitalized with “a serious case of E.coli bacterial infection and influenza” — had planned to join singer Billy Joel for a gig in California Saturday.
But after taking advice from his medial team, Elton elected to stay at home and rest.
“They said he should take it easy as a precaution,” a source told Britain’s News of The World newspaper.
The source adds that Elton, 62, is determined to attend Sunday night’s fund-raising gala in New York for the Elton John Aids Foundation.
“It’s an annual event and Elton never misses it,” the insider insisted. “He has been resting at home and is due to fly to New York today.”
Elton has postponed a string of his world tour gigs but hopes to reschedule some later.
