Tom Cruise ‘Wants Katie Holmes to Star in Fourth Mission: Impossible Movie’
TOM Cruise is planning to make another Mission: Impossible movie — and he wants his wife, Katie Holmes, to play a baddie!
The Top Gun star is gearing up to revitalize the TV-based franchise with a fourth explosive movie, with his sexy spouse providing some of the opposition for his special agent character Ethan Hunt.
“Tom is very excited about taking Mission: Impossible in a new direction and he sees Katie as a big part of that,” said one loose-lipped Hollywood insider.
“They have wanted to work together for a while now but the idea of being a couple on screen in a romantic comedy or something is a bit dull. This might give them a chance to have some fun both as a couple and as hero and villainess.”
Recent reports claimed that Cruise and Holmes — who are parents to adorable daughter Suri, 3 — are at an “all time low” in their relationship and are fighting to save their marriage.
“It’s their third wedding anniversary on 18 November and they’re at an all-time low,” dished an insider.
“The main conflict is between Katie’s career and Tom’s desperation for another child. The sad reality is that they’re not on the same page and want completely different things out of life.
‘Katie’s sick of Tom’s broken promises and wants to walk away for good if the situation doesn’t improve.”

Interesting. I love the Mission Impossible series, but I think I would rather see them in a romantic light film, like the You've Got Mail, Jerry Mcguire, Holiday type films. They have such amazing chemistry the brief times we get to see them together. I would like to see that on the big screen!! A great romance!
I am with you. I want to see Katie in a lead romanctic role…and all the better with Tom!
I am so disappointed. I do not know why when the rumors started that they wanted to do a film together that I assumed it would be a classic romance…maybe because we caught a small glimps of their incredibly romantic whirl wind relationship and I want more.
I guess for a class act like Katie, playing the bad guy/girl might be more fun, but ugh, I will miss what I had envisioned in my head.
I love them. It will be exciting to see them do any film together, but I am joining you all in your sentiments.
Side note: I do not believe anything these crazy articles say about them….according to the media they are always on the verge of a break up and they always look happy when they are together. I wonder if using the same rumor every month for the years they have been together has stopped being so sensational in terms of being a real mag seller.
Is this real? Geez. I wanted to see them do something where they had more equal footing, not his fanchise and Katie could be in it this go round. That really sucks! I don't really mind if they are both in the next Mission Impossible, but I had anticipated this big movie they were going to do together and this was not what I thought it would be. It is just a bit of a downer. I hope this is just one of many movies they do together.
Mazie, I am with you. It feels like Tom's movie that Katie will have a part in, not their movie. Kind of disappointing. I love her!
No onscreen romance for Cruise and Holmes? Such a disappointment. A villian in another Mission Impossible for Katie is admirable from the perspective of the bottom line, and a salary to be determined by her husband. However, character development in the "Missions" is not a strongpoint, say for instance compared to the Bourne series. What Cruise needs for his career is a boost in another direction, along with attracting the market for women in the 18 to 45 group. Furthermore, Cruise must realize that Katie Holmes is a leading lady, not the "best friend" or the supporting actor, and a romance might just let her shine like she deserves.
