Adam Lambert’s AMA Performance Will be Kinky!

Adam LambertADAM Lambert plans to incorporate leather, chains and handcuffs into his performance at the American Music Awards.

The flamboyant American Idol runner-up will sing a sexed-up rendition of For Your Entertainment, the first single off his upcoming album of the same name — and Lambert can’t wait to see how the star-studded crowd responds.

“I can’t wait to see people I look up to as artists in the audience watching,” Lambert said Friday.

“I think that will be a trip, and exciting and motivating all at the same time.

“It will be really interesting to see what kind of reaction the number gets. It’s different. It really does have an edge to it.”

The performance also includes Lambert dragging a shackled woman across the stage.

Other artists set to perform at the 37th annual American Music Awards include Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston, Green Day, Lil’ Wayne, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Keith Urban, Jay-Z and Carrie Underwood.

Lambert, 27, recently insisted he’s just being himself with his “androgynous” look.

“Even on Idol, I wear my eyeliner and my black clothes, my little rocker outfits,” said the stylish star. “That’s just how I’ve always dressed over the past couple of years. You can label it however you want — androgynous, glam, emo, Goth. We can put a bunch of different labels on it but I’m just being myself.”

    Oh sure it will be controversial but how many women and men will be wishing that THEY were the ones shackled and being dragged by Adam???? Me First!!! Look at artists like Alice Cooper and Marilyn Manson, Elvis and the Doors etc. etc. They all shocked at first. People like to be shocked and scared and suprised and titillated and have their adrenaline pumping. Anything else is beige and beige is blah….Adam is a glorious technicolor splendor! You can bet those who may be shocked and cover their eyes will be peeking through their fingers at Adam!

    Controversy isn't a bad thing for an artist. Elvis was considered very disgusting for his pelvic thrusts and they said he would never make it. That said – this is a dance, not Adam grabbing some women and throwing her down and dragging her out. It is choregraphy!! I hardly think it is going to be highly controversial taken in context. He is dancing around with 10 sexy dancers and they do lots of sexy stuff interacting with Adam. I think it will be totally HOT!! Think along the lines of "So You Think You Can Dance" – they do some really sexy, hot choreography.

    The only problem with Adam's performance on the AMA's will be that it won't be long enough. I look forward to seeing Adam perform,and then poof! it's over. Adam better get used to seeing people's tonsils, because everytime he performs everyone's mouth just drops open. I just love, love, love him! I wish the whole show was just about him. Lady Gaga is fun too though.

    adam was amazing, i’m so glad someone did a controversial and entertaining performance! he’s a great singer, too bad he was a little hoarse from rehersal and the aftermath of the American Idol Tour, but it is to be expected with the strain he must put on his voice with the incredible range he has. already got the album from the preorder- it is incredible!!! every song is different and they all have a catchy rhythm. definitely a five star introductory album!

    Adam, that performance did not help your career at all! Those type of performances should be reserved for the Gay clubs and venues of that atmosphere, not an American Award show where millions of people/kids are watching! You really should keep in mind who you are singing to and who is watching. You keep doing performances like that your career will go now where fast! After that Performance, your album sales are not going to be as good as they could of been. Stick to what got you to where you are!!!

    Two rules in advertising: entertain or irritate–just make sure your name is on their lips. Mission accomplished, Adam. I think he was amazing. He did seem a little nervous at first, but he warmed up –ahem–as it went on. And he didn't fall, geez. Rewind and rewatch. That was a practiced, choreographed role with a freaking walking stick that ended just when and where it should have ended.

    This kid is blazing hot and headed for the top.

    I'm not a fan of Adam Lambert, but I enjoyed his performance. Thats what being an artist is, pushing the limits and getting into peoples minds. After reading all of your comments, you can't deny the fact he got to you, and good or bad, that's what art is all about. Disgusting or sexy, whichever you think it was; it was a jaw dropping performance, and will be a topic. (Just so everyone knows, just because you hated it doesn't mean the world does)

    This was an artist expressing himself. I can not believe how many people are freaked out by it. All of you support the Rockers of the past.     It was disgusting and veiwers should have been prewarned of the vulgarity and sexual gesters about to be performed. Maybe he thought he was shooting a porn film. He’s just plain nasty and should have saved that act for his bedroom.

    Well I watched it and really thought it was not something that
    should of been on that awards program. Lots of kids love this
    guy and that was just to much for a mixed audience of viewers.
    I honestly think he made a very bad decision on this and that
    it will impact his career in a negative way. But ABC had to know
    what what he was going to do before hand so if they gave him
    the okay then it must of been something they were not concern
    about. This was way different from Elvis hips folks. To draw
    that comparison is really lame.

    I commend Adam Lambert for the performance even tho I cannot see it, I want to see it but it has all been blocked on the internet. You see all kinds of porn on the net and yet a performance of no porn you cannot see. I also am upset that in America we can see two girls kiss on tv but by all means forget seeing two guys kiss. What a hypocritical country we live in where it is ok for women to do things sexual but no men.

You were eager to see how America would embrace your type of “creativity & entertainment”. You chose to push the envelope wanting to see what reaction you would get.     We saw him in Las Vegas when he performed at the Mandalay Beach and he was great. Whatever he does you can bet it will be outrageous and not some meat outfit like Lady Gaga. If you get a chance go see him as he puts on a really great show, course Mandalay Beach at Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas is a great venue as well.
