Zac Efron Grateful to Robert Pattinson

Zac EfronZAC Efron insists he’s happy that Robert Pattinson came on the showbiz scene — because now he can have a life!

The High School Musical actor says he’s delighted to give way to the Twilight hunk because Pattinson deflects the attention away from him.

“It’s great because now I don’t get so much female attention,” Efron said.

Zac, 22, recently revealed that he wants to star in a West End show.

“I would love to if I could find the right opportunity, I think it’s a matter of time to be honest but I don’t know, I just want to make a break, so it’s harder to be very specific,” he said.

Zac’s new film, Me and Orson Welles, hits movie theaters November 25.

    I can understand celebrities wanting some down time but what I don't understand is that celebrities don't seem to understand that being a celebrity requires fans. No fans, no celebrity status, no work. You can make all the movies in the world but if you do not have any fans who want to see them then you lose your celebrity status and then you get no work.

    he didn't say he didn't want fans-just didn't want to be stalked as much. When you have the moms of your fans chasing you makes it hard to do your grocery shopping…nothing wrong with a little defected attention.

    i don’t think this is true… i mean… even if there’s more hype about Robert Pattinson now than zac, if girls see him, they’re still gonna freak out aren’t they? They’re not gonna be like “OH. there’s zac efron. He’s not robert pattinson though, let’s ignore him”, they’re gonna be like “THAT’S ZAC EFRON!!!! AHHH!!!”
