JENNIFER Lopez insists she meant to fall on her famous derriere during her performance at the 2009 American Music Awards at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater Sunday night.

Lopez’s rendition of her new single, Louboutins started off well — but it all went wrong after she climbed onto a human pyramid of half-naked male dancers and jumped down, slipping backwards onto her booty.

But Lopez is adamant it was all part of the plan.

“Did I trip a little bit? I don’t even remember,” Lopez, 40, joked on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Monday morning.

“Yeah, I meant to do that. That was part of the choreography.”

“The measure of things isn’t what happens when you fall, it’s how you recover when you fall,” she added.

But the tumble didn’t stop Lopez from enjoying herself.

The Jenny From The Block hitmaker — who gave birth to twins Max and Emme, her first kids with husband Marc Anthony, in Feb. last year — had previously revealed that she was nervous about taking to the stage for the AMAs.

“Dancing again, singing, the lights and the costumes — it all feels like second nature,” said Lopez of her first live TV performance in quite some time.

“You know what you’re doing and you feel very good about it, but at the same time, you wouldn’t be human if you’re not afraid,” she added.

“It was fun, it was really fun,” she said. “It was nice to be back on stage and doing my thing.”
