Adam Lambert Won’t Apologize For Racy AMA Performance
ADAM Lambert refuses to apologize for his kinky performance during Sunday night’s American Music Awards.
While performing his new single For Your Entertainment, Lambert — whose set closed the show — simulated fellatio with a male dancer, kissed male keyboardist Tommy Ratliff, grabbed his crotch and flipped off the crowd.
The openly-gay star didn’t didn’t clear the kiss with anyone in advance; and told CNN the smooch happened “in the moment.”
Lambert’s performance was edited for the west coast feed of the awards show.
“You know honestly, if I offended some people… it’s apples and oranges. I’m not an artist that does things for every single person,” the American Idol runner-up told Access Hollywood. “I believe in artistic freedom and expression, I believe in honoring the lyrics of a song, and those lyrics aren’t really for everybody either.”
He said ABC’s decision to edit his performance is “discrimination.”
“There’s a big double standard, female pop artists have been doing things provocative like that for years, and the fact that I’m a male, and I’ll be edited and discriminated against could be a problem,” he explained.
“People are scared and it’s really sad, I just wish people could open their minds up and enjoy things, it’s all for a laugh, it’s really not that big of a deal.”

Adam did amazing last night! He shouldn’t apologize because like he said, female pop stars have been doing things like that for decades. Just because a male pop star decides he wants to go up there, and show the world what he can do, whether it’s provocative or not because it is discrimination, Adam Lambert should be allowed to express his sexuality, and the editing of his performance was uncalled for. The females don’t get edited, so because a freely open gay pop star goes up on stage and shows off his sexuality he gets edited? Why? Because he’s gay, and chooses men over women? It’s not right. And Adam should not have to apologize!
he did nothing wrong, this is america..we are free to do things we love to do.. As long, you dont kill nobody..give him a brake..And if some people dont like it? so what.. get over it..
there is no need to apologize. i really wonder what people did expect from adam. it was one of the best, most entertaining and eyecatching performances of the whole evening…and it did match the song/lyrics just perfectly. so, please calm down, lean back and wait for more to come. all the songs on adam`s cd are very different and so will be all his performances.
I didnt like the kissing and flipping off the crowd. It. . . well, he is either an amazing actor and is not meaning this or he …i dont know how to say it. When he flipped off the crowd a felt like the sweet, humble, funny, adam i knew was replaced by a ravenous, innapropriate, mean one. I thought he was gone forver. I actually started crying my eyes out! My freind(a former fan) said he wasnt coming back and that hes gone!!! I dont want 2 believe it but wat if shes right!!!?? I LOVE my adam just the wayy he was b4!!! Come back adam! PLease i! WE miss u!!!!! I felt like u ripped my heart open and took it with u!!! (A little melodramatic but whatever!) adam is an artist and in his performances he gets dressed up and plays a role. it`s like an actor plays a role. is`s all part of the SHOW…it`s for entertainment. so, don`t worry, ya…adam is still adam.
Adam Lambert’s performance on AMA show was just awful…..totally hatd evrything about it including his vioce !!!
Oh, Adam’s performance on AMA and some of them on the AI tour are heart-sickening. I loved this guy’s vocals and showmanship; but, he has reduced his beautiful talent to filth. I will never like him again. WHAT A SHAME He might have been the world’s greatest singer/performer ever.
SICK He says his stuff is not for everyone; well, if he wants the immoral fan base, go back to the clubs and leave the beautiful music to the deserving
Adam of course can do as he chooses if he is willing to settle for a restricted audience that likes the kind of stuff he does.But he won’t be a mainstream star that way he could be if he just performed as he did on Idol.Carrie Underwood said it that the people that fail change what they did on the show.That performance at the AMA’s will turn off a lot of people on him.And won’t care how good he really is.I think its dumb on his part.Just as “Dirrty” dealt a blow to Christina Aguilera’s career by her putting out the sexually charged video.Mainstream doesn’t like graphic display of sex acts.On their TV’s.especially on shows rated for the General Public with kids watching.I think he’s foolish to do this so early in his start especially, so I’m disappointed he put this on.
