Blake Lively: ‘I Feel Like a Zoo Animal’
BLAKE Lively hates the paparazzi — because they make her feel like a “zoo animal” when they approach her when she’s trying to go about her business.
The Gossip Girl star says she hates being followed by celebrity snappers and likes to keep her private life private.
“The paparazzi frenzy and the media frenzy that is happening right now is really kind of out of control,” the 22-year-old told Parade magazine. “For me, it’s very important to keep my personal life personal.
“It’s odd sometimes when people look at you like a zoo animal when you’re out at a restaurant eating dinner. People are staring at you and pulling out their camera phones. I’m just a human being and sometimes a messy eater — so it’s really unpleasant to be scrutinized like that.”
“There was a big event for the first season of Gossip Girl, and there were hundreds of people and they were screaming and a group of girls started crying and there were police everywhere,” Blake added. “I thought, ‘That was me for the Spice Girls.’
“I was the one who was screaming behind a barricade, so it’s really odd to be on the other side of that. I feel like such a joke because I’m like, ‘Wow, maybe the Spice Girls weren’t as fantastic as I thought they were.’ They’re probably just normal people like I am.”
